When a dog is paralyzed, most vets would recommend euthanasia for several reasons. The main one is that it’s to stop the unnecessary pain of having a difficult life. However, Lea didn’t want to follow this advice because there was one dog she believed in with all her heart.
Thor is a pit bull from Tijuana Mexica. A woman found him on the street, dragging half of his body. His back legs aren’t working because he is paralyzed.
People thought Thor would die, but he managed to live. That’s when a rescue organization was contacted to take him in. No vet believed that this dog was ever going to walk again.
Thor’s actions show that he is far from giving up. Treatment started, and the first plan was getting him to a healthy state. After that, the rescuers focused on therapy to get him walking again.
Nobody expected Thor to walk properly again. That’s why he got a wheelchair, and he was available for adoption. But one day, something unimaginable happened.
Thor got out of his kennel and walked. Lea went and adopted Thor after knowing his story. Leah felt surreal about the experience. She has never taken care of a special-needs dog before.
Lea wanted Thor to feel part of her family, along with her other dogs. She never left his side. This is resulted in Thor gaining more confidence.
Thor is very vocal, and he likes to walk everywhere. He is a dog with the sweetest disposition, according to Lea.
Lea is teary-eyed as she narrates the story of Thor. She knows that her dog is a special soul. Thor is a sensitive dog that is in tune with his adopter.
Thor was saved by the rescuers at The Real Bark in Los Angeles. If only we could see the reaction of all the people who didn’t believe in him. He has proven the naysayers wrong.
