Sometimes famous dog trainers like Victoria Stilwell encounter irresponsible dog owners who have no idea how dangerous their dogs are. Eric is one of those owners.
Eric has an unpredictable Presa Canario named Casper. Victoria knows that one thing that contributes to the dog’s behavior issue is the fact that he is unneutered. Eric doesn’t want to neuter his dog because he wants to breed Casper.
Victoria was stressed out by Eric’s stubborn attitude. She had to remind him that he was not a professional breeder. The trainer was determined to change Eric’s perspective.
In a previous training session, Victoria introduced Eric to two professional K9 trainers near his area. He was amazed by the talent that working dogs displayed, so he wants Casper to be the same. However, on a more recent visit, the trainers reminded him that dogs that go through their training program need to be neutered.
Victoria also took Eric to a shelter to show him a harsh reality. Most of the dogs in the shelter were bully breeds. They were in pitiful conditions. Victoria also gave Eric a long lecture about how many dogs get put down every year.
Eric’s girlfriend, Denise—who was with him during that day—was convinced that breeding Casper was a bad idea. Eric wanted to breed Casper ever since he got him. Neutering Casper wasn’t an easy decision to make.
The K9 trainers will not work with Casper if he isn’t neutered. Eric’s girlfriend also refused to live with him in an apartment if his dog is not well-behaved. After a few weeks, Eric finally came to his senses.
Eric weighed the pros and cons. He realized that there are more benefits to neutering Casper. He had to let go of something that he wanted to do for a long time.
