It is no stranger that Simon Cowell is a dog lover. The television personality is even a fur dad to four adorable dogs, whom he shares several good memories with. This explains why each time the TV personality hears sad dog stories on Britain’s Got Talent, Simon would get emotional.
But even if he looks tough on TV, Simon has a soft spot for dogs. This is why he would often lend a helping hand to dogs in need. Recently, Cowell, along with his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, donated to the K9 Friends in Barbados.
According to reports, the couple donated around $400,000 to the organization when they heard about K9 Friends’ problem. The organization reported that they are taking care of too many shelter dogs. With this, the animal shelter is already struggling with their finances.
Lizzie Cundy is one of the reporters who shared the good news. In her social media post, Cundy lauded the couple for their generous donation to the struggling animal shelter. Cundy added that the couple’s donation is fantastic given the financial woes of the animal shelter.
However, the radio reporter mentioned that this was not the first time that Cowell and Silverman helped the animal shelter. Back in 2019, the couple similarly donated around $250,000 to the animal shelter. This happened when the K9 Friends did not meet their quota during an auction night.
K9 Friends has been in the animal welfare sector since 2014. For over six years now, the organization provides canine welfare to dogs in need. The organization survives through the generous help they receive from different sponsors, including Cowell and Silverman.
With the large donation that the couple gives to the organization, volunteers from the K9 Friends are overwhelmingly happy. The volunteers know that their advocacy is for the greater good because people like the couple believe in them.
