A stray dog was seen on top of Donner Summit. The dog was skinny and sick when she was found. Rescuers were assuming that she came from a dogfighting ring. They thought this because her ears have been chopped off.
Brittany and her husband visited the shelter where Leana was. They saw Leana and immediately fell in love with her.
When they saw her, she was wearing a red sign around her neck. The sign says that she was not ready for adoption yet. This did not stop them from asking about her, though.
When Leana was ready for adoption, Brittany immediately filed for an application. They finally got her.
When they finally brought Leana home, she had no idea how act like a dog. Thankfully, her brother, Tyson, helped her and taught her how to be one.
From playing catch to eating out of a bowl, Leana needed to be taught. Leana has Tyson to thank for the things that she has learned.
Brittany and her family go on a lot of trips together. On one of those trips, Leana met one of their relative’s son.
The boy was only starting to walk. Leana catered to the boy and truly watched out for him. That’s when Brittany realized that Leana was perfect to be a therapy dog.
Brittany got Leana trained to be a therapy dog. Leana now goes to a local elementary school every Tuesday to meet and spend time with the kids.
The family is soon going on their annual cross-country trip. This time, they are going to stop at every state and visit schools and nursing homes. This is so Leana can spread good vibes to people there.
Brittany is very grateful that they have Leana in their lives. She gives off a vibe that makes anyone she meets to feel calm and relaxed.
