Right after rescuing an injured dog named Masik, Eldad, and Loreta, two veteran rescuers from a local animal rescue organization immediately responded to an urgent call about a dog who has been unresponsive for hours. When they arrived, they found the dog in a corner looking out of sorts.
They decided to close off the area, thinking that the dog may run away when approached. The dog had food and water but did not touch it even one bit. He was just lying there, with no way for Eldad and Loreta to tell if he was injured or in pain.
Loreta tried to put a leash on the dog, but he began growling so Eldad calmed him down with food again. Fortunately, after a while, the dog finally allowed Eldad to touch him. Loreta was able to put the leash this time.
After the rescue, they immediately took Antonio, as they named him, to the vet. Weirdly, the results of the initial examination showed that nothing was wrong with the dog. The ultrasound result, however, revealed that Antonio had internal bleeding.
It did not look like Antonio got hit by a car as he did not have any road rash, broken bones, or any visible trauma. The most likely cause was he was kicked so hard in the belly that his liver got bruised, and his spleen ruptured.
He would’ve kicked the bucket that day if rescuers did not arrive on time. Antonio was immediately rushed to surgery to save his life.
Thankfully, the surgery went well, and all that is left is a speedy recovery for Antonio. After a few days, Antonio gained his physical strength and is recovering quite nicely.
Currently, Antonio is receiving a lot of care, hugs, and kisses from his family thanks to his adoptive parents and rescuers like Eldad and Loreta, who never seem to tire of helping dogs everywhere.
